MJM agro is purchasing the Czech company Krmiva Salač. This acquisition secures an established retail and wholesale distribution of pet food in the Czech Republic. It will take over the wholesale distribution, as well as the e-shop Propacky.cz and the supplier network in Slovakia. The key advantages of the transaction are the company's 30-year history and the exclusive rights to sell premium dog and cat food brands. MJM agro intends to continue strengthening its position in the Pet Food sector.
“Thanks to the pet food acquisition, we now offer a complete range of feed for both livestock and companion animals, and we intend to develop this further. We will be expanding our network of stores that understand breeders and growers, as well as our online sales in the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” says Radomír Šmoldas, CEO of MJM agro, clearly stating the company's appetite for expansion in the feed segment.
For MJM agro, this is a logical step. The acquisition complements its existing range of feed for livestock breeders, who have long been seeking feed and other supplements for their companion animals as well. MJM agro’s retail sales currently have an annual turnover of CZK 110 million. Following the acquisition, turnover will double. MJM agro is prepared to grow in the pet food segment, either organically or through further purchases.
“We took our customers' demand seriously and will now also offer them pet food. Furthermore, thanks to the acquired e-shop Propacky.cz and the operational distribution across the entire Czech Republic and Slovakia, we will extend our livestock feed beyond the regional borders,” explains Zdeňka Václavíková, who is responsible for the retail segment at MJM agro.
MJM agro has currently opened its company stores in 15 towns and villages throughout Moravia. This includes, for example, a new store in Jeseník, where people greatly appreciated the help provided for restoring their gardens and small livestock holdings after the floods.
In its regional stores, the company offers everything people need to grow vegetables at home or feed their chickens and rabbits. Customers can find everything for their small-scale farming or gardening, including advice from experienced farmers. The stores are also characterized by so-called "regional corners," where local producers offer their products such as fruit, vegetables, eggs, cheeses, or preserves.
