The mobile unit glides across the fields, guaranteeing the hens fresh pastures every single day while the hens contribute to natural soil regeneration. This method embodies global movements in regenerative agriculture, animal welfare, and clean-label food.
"We’ve explored the concept of mobile housing for a long time, but this Canadian model fit our vision perfectly. It offers effortless operation and maximum comfort for our hens. The result is a pasture-raised egg with a richer flavor profile and superior nutritional density compared to conventional eggs," says Ondřej Solar, Director of Hanácká zemědělská.
The Pasture-Raised Difference
Our hens spend their days foraging on open land, supplemented by a proprietary blend of estate-grown grains, peas, and hemp seeds. This diet, combined with plenty of sunshine, results in a nutrient-dense egg. Compared to factory-farmed alternatives, these eggs are packed with more: Vitamin D, A, and E, Folic acid, Omega-3 fatty acids and Antioxidants.
"Innovation has been our core for over 30 years—from precision ag to robotics. Now, through our Neoagro brand, we are leveraging advanced technology to bring the first Haná pasture-raised eggs to market. We are making the future of sustainable farming accessible to everyone," explains Radomír Šmoldas, CEO of MJM agro.
High-Tech Husbandry
Unlike standard mobile barns, this innovative Canadian system is defined by high-level automation: Self-propelled drive and solar-powered energy. Integrated Photovoltaics: Powers the feeders, waterers, and the protective electric fencing. Smart Monitoring: Managed via a mobile app for 24/7 oversight.Automated Collection: Ensuring eggs are gathered efficiently and safely.
Introducing "Véco" – The Haná Pasture Egg
Launching in late May, these eggs will carry the brand name Véco (the traditional Haná dialect for "egg").
Where to find them:
- 24/7 Self-Service Vending: Located at the Hanácká zemědělská facility in Dolany.
- MJM agro Retail Stores: Including the Olomouc location near Baumax.
- The company is actively expanding its network to additional retail partners.
"Life on the pasture is incomparable to cage-free or barn systems. Instead of crowding tens of thousands of birds together, we maintain a small flock of 500 on open land. It’s ethically produced food at its finest. We believe our 'Pasture Véco' will quickly become a favorite for those who value transparency and quality," adds Ondřej Solar.
The Road Ahead
With an estimated output of 10,000 eggs per month per unit, the company targets the premium segment of the market. While priced higher than commodity supermarket eggs, the focus remains on the value of animal welfare. By July, a second mobile unit will double capacity to 20,000 eggs per month, bringing the total flock to 1,000 pasture-raised hens.
